The Municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte is strategically located along the Illana Bay, a part of the BIMP-EAGA known for its abundance in marine resources especially tulingan (tuna), the Municipality is commonly known and dubbed as the Fishing Ground Capital of the Province of Lanao del Norte.
Sultan Naga Dimaporo is also well-known for its potential for tourism development for its beautiful and scenic beaches as well.
In its effort to promote its tourism industry, Tulingan Festival is presented and launched for the first time on the year 2003 and is regularly shown every 4th of the month of October.
Tulingan Festival generally features the role of men in preserving Mother Earth. It encourages resident to rally behind with Local Government Unit in its honest-to-goodness campaign against illegal fishing.
